Library Resources and Services in Spanish

The Riverside County Library offers a variety
of Spanish-language and bilingual library resources and services
for persons who prefer to read in Spanish, for persons learning
Spanish, and for Spanish-speakers learning to speak English.
These resources and services include the following:
Spanish and
bilingual books – Every branch
of the Riverside County Library System carries books in Spanish
as well as bilingual books for children and adults. These
books include fiction, children’s picture books, and
non-fiction books in subjects that range from gardening to
health to art to home improvement. Thousands of new Spanish
language books have been added to the Library’s collection
in the last year. Visit a county library site near you to
find out what the library has to offer.
Online materials
– Your Riverside County Library card gives you access
to a world of online resources, including many in Spanish.
Every library in the county has computers that offer free
access to the Internet where you can conduct research, read
newspapers from the U.S. and Latin America, and access e-mail
to stay in touch with friends and family.
For cardholders, the library offers Cumbre,
an online encyclopedia in Spanish and Informe, a
collection of full-text journals and magazines in Spanish.

Storyhours
and programs – Many
branches of the Riverside County Library System offer programs
for children and adults, especially tailored to Latino residents
of the County, including bilingual story hours, cultural programs,
author talks, computer classes, and other fun and instructional
resources. Click

English as
a Second Language classes– The
Riverside County Library System offers ESL classes across
the county. These classes offer a systematic method for learning
English that builds from what a student already knows. For
